Thomas Bateman Hood’s design of a new home in Decatur Georgia was selected as the U.S. Green Building Council 2017 Outstanding Single-Family Project, an international competition. It achieved LEED Platinum status. Hood designed the house for longtime friend and colleague Carl Seville of SK Collaborative, a company specializing in green building.

The Butterfly House was featured in Architectural Digest‘s May 2018 Issue, with Designer Jamie Bush. Thomas Hood, as consulting Restoration Architect, worked with View Dynamic Glass on the installation of their smart glass system for the huge ocean-facing window wall.
