Burnham Residence
Located on the site of a 19th Century logging camp and at the foot of Mt. Tamalpais, this 3500-square-foot home
was constructed on the
original foundation of a 1914 vacation cottage.
The unique structural
design is an interpretation of the Shingle Style, adapted with Arts & Crafts detail and influenced by extensive research on historic Massachusetts coastline homes - reflective of the owner's childhood.
While the extensive exterior detailing was classically inspired, the home utilizes a monochromatic color scheme: Cordovan brown exterior shingles, white plaster interior walls, and blackened Brazilian cherry wood floors.

In unique contrast to the exterior detailing, the home's clean, all-white interiors allow active spaces to flow seamlessly into art gallery areas.

The owner of the residence, an art dealer, chose custom furnishings by designer Roy McMakin to enliven interior living spaces.
